Ok, I am going to admit up front that I have dropped the ball on my writing. Being sick does that to you.
I'm not well, but I'm so much better than I was two years ago. Changing my diet, changing the way we live, and even how I worked has really made all of the difference in the world. I look forward to continuing to make healthy lifestyle choices and getting myself and my family into shape.
My son is 18 now and has graduated school. He's working on coming off of his ADHD medication which was needed for school. It's a challenge for all of us, and has required a lot more patience on everyone's part, especially DH, son's stepdad. Son has no focus and just wants to sleep or play video games. I've been trying to teach him time management and organizational skills. Over the years we've put him into numerous classes to help with those things, but they just didn't stick. I'm hopeful that using real-life examples over school-place ones with him will help. He's taking a year off before school which we think is good. He needs to mature a bit more before he'll be ready to handle that. If you hear screaming I'm not sure if it will be me OR him. We have good days and then really awful days, but I'm hopeful we'll get there.
Daughter is entering fifth grade. I remember that being a tough year when I was her age, and I remember it being really hard for son. That was the first year he had to summer school...but we won't talk about that right now. Ha. Daughter is excited - finally she and her best friend since first grade will be back in a classroom together. They didn't get their number one choice of teacher, but I'm hopeful they will like her. School starts here the first week of August so we will have orientation soon. This is her last year at the elementary school and unfortunately they are getting a new principal. I haven't had an opportunity to meet her, nor has the girl child, but we will at orientation. Daughter doesn't handle change well, so cross your fingers that she'll really like this new person in her life.
I'll write more about puppies and life soon. I promise.
